The Silhouette of My Wish

The lamppost flickers a soft yellow glow,

a sheer curtain for November’s first frost.

Beneath the vast night, we stand together.

A shooting star fires against the black sky

like one of Artemis’ flaring arrows.

With eyes closed, we pray to the universe.
